Happy Spring!
Hello Beautiful People,
Happy Spring Equinox!
What a difference a few days make! In Milwaukee, we had rain and hail out of nowhere on Wednesday night. I was parking my car and getting ready to set-up for a “pre-equinox” event and all of a sudden — I was like, “Is someone throwing sand on my car?” Yes. It was Mother Nature. Then, poof … the next day was sunny and gorgeous (windy and ruthless, but sunny and gorgeous).
It’s true that we talk about the weather a lot in the Midwest because it’s always changing, and you can decipher a lot about someone’s mood, daily experience, or obstacles by asking “What’s the weather like?” I feel people ask it like a greeting in the same way that folks in India ask, “Have you eaten?” A lot can be deciphered about someone’s state of mind, mood, and experience with the answer to that question too. Both are just a sideways way of asking “How are you?,” “Are you alright?,” “Have your needs been met?,” “Are things going smoothly?,” “How many challenges did you overcome today?,” etc.
The thing about Spring is that the name of the game is change. One day it feels like summer, the next it feels like winter. Your plans, your mood, your environment can change in an instant. And, that’s why we need to take care of ourselves in the Spring by adapting and shifting to the current needs.
On Wednesday, I had originally planned to do a dance-y, sweating, joyful kundalini set for the “pre-equinox” event. And whoa baby, the energy of the day was not aligned to that at all. It was heavy, rainy, and grey. Instead, we did more chanting and singing. And if I’m honest, it felt like there was lot of grief that folks needed to release.
In the early of days of teaching, I would be very conflicted when I felt the energy was misaligned with what I had communicated I was going to teach. I felt like I had to follow-through with what I promised students would be the experience. The more years I teach, the more I feel I am most of service when I adapt to the needs of the moment. It’s okay to change the plan when we get new information.
So, in this time of seed-planting and dream-weaving, I hope you all get a new wave of enthusiasm for our ideas but be gentle on ourselves if the plans change and we need to adapt and respond to the new information in front of us. No time is lost on crafting past plans. They are foundational to the ones we do eventually execute.
Wishing you a delightful season of seed-planting, dream-weaving, and inspiration-harvesting!

Today was our first day of the new time for our Friday Morning classes via zoom and it was kind of nice to start the day earlier. Online Kundalini classes will be start at 7am cst during Spring and we’ll shift the schedule again after Summer Solstice (June 20th). Today’s class was centered around celebrating the sun, so naturally we did Surya “Sun” Kriya. This is an accessible set with high impact, a lot of breathwork, and a lot of integration time. Let me know if you’d like to be added on the calendar invite and/or if you’re interested in purchasing the recording. Read more here!
Sending you heaps of love,
